Sunday Digest: Pork is delicious

And easy to digest. Get it? …Never mind. I’ve got a headache today, probably because I played fast and loose with my diet this weekend. As the song says, you pay for what you get. :\

Actually, I’ve had kind of a good weekend — my anniversary was on Friday, and I went with my wife to the Minnesota State Fair, which was fun. Also, my younger sister had her wedding ceremony yesterday, and that was good too. Got to see a lot of relatives I don’t see too often anymore, now that my grandma passed on. So yeah. Shouldn’t have eaten the cake, though. Damn carbs. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, got last weeks chapter of Anubai done this week instead… so do I owe you guys an extra chapter in the future? I’ll keep it in mind. No progress made anywhere else, although I’ve been tempted to start a sci fi story, just because. But, y’know, space — who wants to deal with space, y’know? ๐Ÿ™‚

On the model front, finished up the Roman Colosseum, which was pretty fun. I also put together a couple of single sheet models, which are pretty simple in comparison: The Golden Gate Bridge, and a UH-1 Huey.

Oh, and I forgot to present it last week, but that WWI airplane is a Fokker D-VII. Just so you know. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yeah, that’s all I’ve got. I’m going to go nurse this headache a bit. Stay healthy, everyone. ๐Ÿ˜€

The Anubai Hero, Chapter 14

Chapter 14

With matching glares, Li Stahn of the Infinite Sky Devil Sect and the monster hunter Gan Zhu confronted each other. On the outside, each was as confident and as domineering as the other; and on the inside, both were angry, vexed, and severely depressed, and trying very hard not to let their feelings show. An outside observer might conclude that the two young men were actually very similar — and as it happens, there was in fact someone observing their fight who came to that very conclusion!

If the two had realized that they were being watched, they no doubt would have felt even more despondent, but fortunately the watcher was one Zebu Biel! The fat man sat atop a tall tree, resting on a branch that seemed much too thin to support his apparent weight. But somehow it failed to snap, and the fat man watched the ongoing fight while occasionally bursting out into laughter, completely ignoring his precarious perch; and neither fighter had even the slightest idea that he was there.

The two fighters had paid close attention as they retreated from North Pine City, and as far as they could tell, they had not been pursued. Nevertheless by unspoken agreement, they moved while leaving no traces, as quickly as possible, to delay the inevitable pursuit of the Fan Clan. Continue reading

Sunday Digest: Working hard, or hardly working…

Hello, my loyal readers! You truly deserve better than me — I didn’t even finish a single chapter this week. Sadness. I hope you enjoyed the preview for the next chapter of Anubai, though, which I deliberately left at the point where we were just about to learn a big secret about the MC! …Actually, I’m kind of a jerk. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway. Those who glanced at the main menu above might have noticed a new addition. Yes, I now have a gallery displaying all my Metal Earth models! Woo! Incidentally, I received a couple questions about my experiences from Solomaize over on Volare’s comment sections, and rather than derail that particular thread any farther, I decided to add a little explanation at the bottom of the new page. So, check that out too, and if you have any other questions, please ask; I love talking about my models. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Speaking of my models… M-1 Abrams get! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Continue reading

Teaser: Anubai 14

Hey, everyone! To the surprise of absolutely no one, this week’s chapter is not finished yet. (You’re not surprised, right?) You probably think that it’s because I procrastinated while putting together models and playing games about cute girls creating bombs. Let me assure you, nothing could be further from the truth.

Yeah, I lied. It’s totally because of that. But I got to blow up Archliches (Archlichi?), so it’s ok! ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, here is a teaser for the next chapter… which I won’t guarantee by Sunday, but early next week. We’ll see. Continue reading

Sunday Digest: Because Alchemy!

Ok, first of all: The full chapter 13 of The Anubai Hero has been posted! Go check it out! Unfortunately, I ended up updating over the initial preview chapter due to technical difficulties, so it didn’t send out a notification that I posted it. Something for me to avoid in the future.

I also did some work on a different piece this week, but… it’s not ready for the light of day yet. I need to advance it to the point where people can see the main gimmick first… Oh, and it’s supposed to be comedic, but I’m already asking myself “Is this actually funny?” so let’s just take that with a grain of salt, shall we?

Second and third, I finished my train! Continue reading

The Anubai Hero, Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Sun Mia panted as she ran, pulled along by the ordinary-looking woman who had been selling vegetables to her less than half an hour ago. The woman wasnโ€™t running at random and seemed to have a destination in mind, but Sun Mia wasnโ€™t sure where she was being taken. She had tried to get the womanโ€™s attention a couple of times, but the woman was ignoring her words, and dragging her along with an unusually strong grip on her wrist.

Sun Mia had been initially grateful that the woman had pulled her away from that frightening situation, but now she was getting worried. She wasnโ€™t too familiar with this particular market, and she had no idea where the woman was taking her. Perhaps she was still in dangerโ€ฆ

The merchant woman paid no attention to Sun Miaโ€™s worries, however, and quickly arrived at her destination. To Sun Miaโ€™s surprise, this location was an ordinary meat stand, run by a tough-looking old man behind the grill. Had Gan Zhu been here, he would have recognized the old man as the one who had sold him a delicious meat skewer early: Old Mehek! Continue reading

Sunday Digest: Why is it the 6th already?

I have the hardest time keeping track of… well, time. Oh, well, happy August everyone. Didn’t get a Anubai chapter done this week, sorry. Did post a bit of possibly meaningful background data on Friday, so check that out if you’re interested.

Next week, there’s a 60% chance of a new Anubai chapter, a 35% chance of something different that’s been bugging my brain, and a 15% chance I won’t accomplish anything because I started playing Atelier Sophie again. Yes, that’s 110%. Come at me, bro. ๐Ÿ˜›

Speaking of Atelier Sophie, I was deciding whether or not to start from the beginning again, or pick up where I left off. So I checked the time played on each save. On my oldest save, on 11/28, I had about 8 hours of play time. On my latest save, 12/6, I had aboutย 56 hours. In other words, I played nearly forty hours in a week. That must have been a good week… ^^;

In the end, I started over. Sure, that’s 56 hours down the drain, but I don’t remember any of it, so meh. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In other news, I sold a large part of my book collection today. I can’t justify the space to keep them, but I was sad to see them go… ;_;

Oh well, I got some money for them, anyway. :\

Finally, here’s today’s train car:

So, this is the “Plug Door Box Car – The plug door system closes with a final inward movement (similar to most van sliding doors) that seals the door flush with the interior of the box car to provide a much better seal than the sliding door box car.”

…Was that really the most interesting thing they could find to say about it? The doors on the model can’t even move. ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, I’m probably going to finish both the hopper car and the caboose for next week, so look forward to the finished train! ๐Ÿ˜€
