Here I will place anything that doesn’t (currently) have another home. For instance:
For those who don’t know, Nation Novel Writer’s Month is a self-imposed challenge to write a novel of 50,000 words during the month of November. This was the first year I finished the challenge, although…even though I made it past 50,000 words, the story is only approximately 2/3 finished. So, I’ll be working on finishing it over the course of the next year… My goal is to end up with something publishable, so consider this something of an alpha version.
This isn’t so much of a story, as a moment that might someday lead into a story. All I know is, it isn’t connected to anything else I’m writing at this time. But hey, I wrote it down, so here it is. Criticize as you will.
This short story is something of a prologue to a story I haven’t written yet, which I intend to call Kingdomfall Academy. I intend to work on it more seriously once I’ve advanced A Living Will a bit more, but until that point, this prologue gets to stay here.
What Would I Rather Be Reading:
This was meant to be a feature where I would review novels, comics, etc., that I like as a palate cleanser from forcing myself to read AGOT. Since I’m no longer doing that, I stopped reviewing other stuff as well. But if anyone is interested, here are the reviews I did complete:
- Jim Butcher’s The Aeronaut’s Windlass
- Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn series
- Michelle Sagara’s Chronicles of Elantra series
- Matthew Woodring Stover’s The Acts of Caine series
- Four Japanese Light Novels
- Brian Wilkerson’s Journey to Chaos series
- Ursula Vernon’s Digger and others
